Sweet and Spicy Buffalo Sauce

Sharing is caring!

My kids love anything with buffalo sauce. I love anything that is simple and heightens the flavor of something we love to eat. Plus, bonus points if it is dippable! Sweet and spicy buffalo sauce ticks all those boxes for me!

This tasty sauce is not only mildly spicy and tangy, but it is sweet and buttery. It is the perfect sauce for a buffalo chicken sandwich or to dip your chicken tenders into. This sweet and spicy buffalo sauce is the perfect addition to chicken and waffles, too!

We love making buffalo sauce homemade because you have more control over the heat (by using your favorite hot sauce), your ingredients, and the flavors of the buffalo sauce. We like ours buttery and slightly sweet, making it a mixture of well balanced flavors. This one is one of our family favorites!

We love pairing ours with our Easy Homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing on a chicken sandwich. The flavors together balance each other out so well!

It is spicy, tangy, sweet, and buttery, you and your family are sure to love this one!

Supplies needed to make Sweet and Spicy Buffalo Sauce

  • Measuring spoons
  • Measuring cups
  • Metal Whisk
  • A container or jar for storing your buffalo sauce

Ingredients

Hot Sauce – We love Frank’s Red Hot Original hot sauce for this recipe. It isn’t unbearably hot and my kiddos really love it on everything.

Butter – We use either salted or unsalted.

Worcestershire Sauce – Something I always have on hand for added flavor in an unsuspecting way! It really is one of my favorite ingredients to use in recipes.

Brown Sugar – Where your sweetness comes in. Brown sugar also thickens up the buffalo sauce just a little.

Then, turn your stove on medium low and allow the sauce mixture to begin heating up. Stir the ingredients together until it forms a sauce. Your butter will be melted and so will your sugar!
