Perfect as a dip, sandwich spread, or great on salads, we are always using this easy homemade buttermilk ranch dressing on everything. It is the perfect prep ahead salad dressing for the week, ingredients are minimal, and it is super budget friendly.

This easy homemade buttermilk ranch dressing is so simple and comes together super quickly. It uses many staple ingredients from your pantry like dried herbs and vinegar, as well as dairy products you are likely to already have in the back of your fridge.
A family favorite and a weekly staple in my house, we will use this on practically everything! The dressing is creamy, herby, and tangy. All of the flavors come together to make the perfect tasting ranch.

Ingredients

Mayo, Sour Cream, Buttermilk – your base for this dressing and where all the creaminess comes from!
Red Wine Vinegar – This little ingredient adds that little bit of tang all ranch dressing has.
Garlic Paste – You can always use garlic powder in the garlic paste’s place but the garlic paste really does add so much flavor! Especially if you are a garlic love (like me!).
Seasonings – Seasonings like onion powder, dried herbs like parsley, dill, and chives, as well as salt and pepper, bring this easy homemade buttermilk ranch dressing together!

How to make Easy Homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

First, add your mayo, sour cream, and buttermilk to your mixing bowl.
Next, add your red wine vinegar to the top, along with your garlic paste.
Then, pour into the bowl all of your herbs and seasoning to the mixing bowl.
Finally, grab your whisk and stir all of your ingredients together. It should yield a thick and creamy consistency.

Additionally, now is when you’ll want to taste the dressing and adjust your salt and pepper (my family loves extra black pepper in nearly everything we eat!).


Tips
- Cut down on dishes and mix it directly in the container you will be storing it in. This cuts down on dirty dishes!
- If you want a thinner dressing, just add a little milk at a time! Stir it in, checking your consistency as you go.
- Makes a great dip for chips with our recipe or makes a great, creamy salad dressing.

Easy Creamy Blue Cheese Ranch Dressing
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup Buttermilk
- ½ cup Mayo
- ½ cup Sour Cream
- 1 tsp Red Wine Vinegar
- 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
- ½ tsp Garlic Paste
- ½ tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Dried Parsley
- 1 tsp Dried Dill
