Supplies needed to make Smoked Turkey Italian Pinwheels with Spinach

Ingredients

Smoked Turkey – Smoked turkey is my go-to in pinwheels because of the amount of flavor it adds to the dish. Any deli meat would actually work in this recipe!

Cream Cheese – We used full fat cream cheese for this recipe. Make sure your cream cheese has been set out to become room temperature so it is easier to mix.

Cheddar Cheese – I used sharp cheddar but any cheese will do!

Dried Italian Dressing Mix – This added that salty-twang to the pinwheels. Start with a half of a package of the seasoning and if you’d like add more to taste!

Spinach – I liked the fresh spinach but you could always leave that out or even replace it with thinly sliced red bell pepper.

Tortillas – We used the large burrito style ones here so we could get many layers as we rolled them up before cutting them into pinwheels.

How to make Smoked Turkey Italian Pinwheels with Spinach

First, mix together your package of italian dressing seasoning mix and your room temperature cream cheese until the seasoning is full incorporated.

Then, mix your finely shredded cheddar cheese into the cream cheese mixture.

Next, spread a layer of the cream cheese mixture onto your tortilla. I go right to the edge with the cream cheese because it acts as the glue around the edges once you roll them up. You can use as little or as much cream cheese as you desire. I tend to only use a thin layer.

After spreading your cream cheese mixture onto your tortilla, add your layer of spinach and then a layer of your sliced turkey. Leave a gap between the edge and your turkey and spinach so that you can use the edge as your “glue” once you roll up the tortillas.

Finally, roll your tortilla up and then slice them into pinwheels. I sliced out pinwheels at about a 1/2 inch.

Now, enjoy!

Tips

  • You can use any kind of deli meat you like – sliced chicken, ham, salami, or even roast beef would taste amazing!
  • If you don’t love spinach, just leave it out! I wanted to add a little something green and healthy for kids to eat inside of these but you can always leave it out or switch it for a different vegetable like romaine lettuce or even sliced thing red bell pepper.
  • Instead of using italian dressing seasoning mix you could always use ranch dressing seasoning mix instead.
