Ingredients

Ground Pork Seasoning

  • 1 pound Ground Pork
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • Black Pepper, to taste

Asian Sauce

  • cup Soy Sauce
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Crunch Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Minced Garlic
  • ½ teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil

Optional Thickener

  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Cold Water

Instructions

  • Start your rice, cooking according to the package instructions. I use my rice cooker, but you can use a pot to cook your rice.
  • Add the ground pork to a large skillet over medium heat along with garlic powder, onion powder, sesame oil, and black pepper. Then, cook and break apart your meat until it has browned.
  • While the pork cooks, whisk together the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, chili crunch oil, onion powder, minced garlic, ground ginger, and sesame oil in a separate bowl.
  • Once the pork has fully browned, drain any excess grease. Pour the sauce into the skillet and stir until it is fully combined
  • For a thicker sauce, whisk together the cornstarch and the cold water and then stir the cornstarch slurry into your sauce until fully combined. This will take 1-2 minutes.
  • Serve the pork over rice and enjoy! I like to eat mine with steamed broccoli.

Notes

  • Freezer friendly - the pork and the sauce freezes well for up to 3 months. Just thaw over night, reheat on the stovetop, and serve with freshly made rice
  • Great for meal prep and quick weeknight dinners,
  • Adjust the chili crunch oil depending on how spicy you like it.
  • Add steamed broccoli, green beans, carrots, or green onions for some extra veggies!
